The topic of the book is the quantitative characterization of chemical reactions taking place in the soil, as well as the properties of the main soil components.       Outlines are given on the physico-chemical and colloid-chemical regularities necessary to the evaluation of soil chemical processes, then, the individual reaction types and the mechanism of mass transport are discussed in detail.       Attention is focused on the properties and roles of soil colloids, the mechanism of the adsorption of ion exchange, the chemical and colloid chemical interpretation of soil acidity, the evaluation of the acid-base buffer capacity of the soils, as well as on the principles of the modelling of salt-and ion transport in soils.
