The chronological, topical and comparative chapters of the volume are based on the socio-demographic and political data collected about close to 5 thousand members of the Hungarian parliament from 1884 until the present day. The political science analysis reflects a critical approach of representative democracy and argues that the characteristics of MPs are not only a reflection of the political and societal environment but they also have an impact on that environment via political and policy decisions.
