This threefold volume contains three separate yet conceptionally coherent books. Methodically the author integrates source-microanalysis and full scale interpretation. The first book focuses on new source analyses in some key issues of Greek and Roman political history. The second book sets out to fill a few provocating lacks in important subjects of Greek and Roman political history. A special appendix outlines the historical changes and destiny of 20^th century Marxism out of the distance of Ancient History. The third book presents a new approach to the theory of history based on classical starting points and involving a new conception of political history. The permanent laws in the sphere of politics, the ethical and legal norms in policy are also discussed, and a new assessment of the social function of history in education is adjoined. The scope of this  book includes also some controversial themes as the new nationalism, the German problem, and the shaping of a new PC-democracy.
