Zwei Senatoren bestechen drei Vestalinnen
Nominalphrasent mit Numeralien (NumNP) und die referenziell-strukturelle Ambiguität im Deutschen
The Ph.D. thesis treats the referential-structural ambiguities of plural NP in German: collective, distributive and scopal readings. This type of grammatical ambiguity can be analysed on the basis of strict grammatical factors without any reference to contextual factors. The analysis of the German data is combined with a typological approach. I describe different interpretation possibilities for these sentences in the theoretical framework of truth conditional semantics.
